  • Jamie Gore and Steve Wood (and featuring Chris Karpyszyn)
  • Due to too many issues, this podcast is actually two weeks of recorded material rolled into one
  • I think we may have talked more about Duke Nukem: Forever than Halo: Reach
  • At least video game sales are beginning to pick up (Metroid’s sales are surprisingly high)

  • Jamie Gore and Steve Wood
  • Not much to talk about so I talk about why there was nothing happening on the site last week
  • At least this week looks to be better as this podcast is out on time (for a change).
  • Kane & Lynch 2 didn’t do so well. Only one person that I know of is surprised.
  • I’m not expecting big things for Metroid: Other M either.

  • Jamie Gore and Chris Karpyszyn
  • Apparently, people like football games.
  • I really don’t think go-karting will sell a single copy of Gran Turismo 5
  • Likewise, I don’t think the Corvette license would sell any extra copies of Mario Kart
  • I apologize for the audio issues. I’ve been having problems with my recording software. The podcast is still plenty listenable but instead of sort-of FM quality this week, the podcast is really-like AM quality.

  • Jamie Gore and Chris Karpyszyn
  • A quarter of this podcast is me hating on Ubisoft…this is either because it really is a slow news week for games or I loathe the recent business direction of the company (probably a little of both)
  • Hopefully there will be some interesting stuff to talk about when Gamescom hits this week.
  • When I read that Bioshock Infinite was in the works, I was so underwhelmed that I felt that I needed to take a nap.

  • Jamie Gore and Chris Karpyszyn
  • Finally a podcast that’s out on time
  • Unfortunately there’s nothing much to talk about other than TORCHLIGHT 2!!!
  • I’m not saying people shouldn’t buy the Xbox Live version of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light but people just shouldn’t spend their money supporting half-finished software…I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t buy the game. Buy something better instead.

  • Jamie Gore and Chris Karpyszyn
  • I almost had this podcast out on time
  • Shorter than normal because there’s not much to talk about
  • Remember all those Nintendo printing money jokes? Well, maybe they should have printed more and stuffed it under a mattress because they seemed to have lost their printing press
  • We talk pirates and not the parrot-loving kind

Weekly Video Game Podcast – The Missing One <110 mins (91.5 MB)>

Things have been very crazy for me the last couple of weeks. It seems like I haven’t been able to put much time into the site since E3 (although admittedly, I was so burned out with dealing with so much stupidity around the event that I was burned out on the whole Internet thing). In the last two weeks, I’ve written quite a bit of stuff on my way to and from work but haven’t had time to sit down and edit it. Likewise, Chris and I have gotten together to record several podcasts but I just haven’t had the time to work on the post-production stuff. So, not wanting our work to go to waste, I decided to post a “weekly” video game podcast so that people know that the site isn’t dead and that we have been working on some stuff. It’s basically two podcasts spliced into one as I removed some of the less interesting stuff and other stuff that we had talked about twice during both recordings.

There will be a podcast on Monday (we’re recording it in a couple of hours and I plan on editing it so that it’s available Monday evening). I also have a massive amount of reviews (both video game and film) that are coming up in the next couple of days. When I mean tons, I mean close to a dozen reviews up on the site by Wednesday. I’ll also begin the daily rants tomorrow (I’m putting the finishing touches up on one right now). For those that enjoy coming to my site but have been annoyed by the lack of posts, I apologize. However, I’m not going to post stuff because I feel I have to post stuff. I want to make sure that the work I’m putting into this site is a labour of love rather than just hard labour. I’m working on some projects for the site that will hopefully mean bigger and better things around this corner of cyberspace.

Two last quick notes: the video game newsletter will now be published on Wednesdays now (which makes things much easier for me if post-production of the podcast or editing of the newsletter goes awry) and Madness Brewing Live has moved to 8:30 eastern on Wednesdays but remains on the air at WRGT Radio

It’s finally up. Despite my computer’s best attempts to delete all the audio files and my house’s attempt to drive me insane by losing power in the middle of post-production, I’ve finally managed to put together this week’s Video Game Podcast. Chris and I talk for nearly 90 minutes about video game sales, the future of the industry, OnLive, and other assorted nonsense. While downloading the podcast, continue reading below for the sales charts for the last four weeks (all data comes from VGChartz.com) as well as a list of the games that came out last week and this week (including trailers where available).

This podcast was recorded last Sunday but due to some technical and logistical issues, I haven’t been able to post the podcast until today. I talk briefly at the beginning about the posting schedule for the website but I’ve modified it and the current schedule can be found in a posting update I published on the site on Monday evening. The reason why I published this podcast instead of junking it due to it being delayed for so long is that I really enjoyed listening to it. I listened to the thing in its entirety three times during post-production (which tells you about all the problems I had with my audio-editing software). It’s probably one of the best podcasts that I’ve ever published on the site.

There are big plans for E3. Check out Madness Brewing Live on Wednesday at 10PM for more details (on WRGTradio.com).

  • Jamie Gore and Chris Karpyszyn
  • It’s been awhile but this might be our best podcast ever (definitely the longest)
  • This is the podcast and post that Windows Live Writer doesn’t want you to see (seriously…how can a saved file that I was in the middle of working on just decide to vanish)
  • Activision and Bungie, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
